Decentraland’s Metaverse Fashion Week (MVFW22) has unveiled the future of fashion. Featuring AI and robots, luxury wearables, ‘phygital goods,’ and immersive experiences, more than 70 participating brands, artists, and designers, are coming together to be a part of MVFW22, a milestone event in the global fashion industry, that ends on March 27.

During MVFW22, Decentraland will debut several community-run neighborhoods within the newly created Fashion District. At each of these locations, brands and designers will feature their catwalks, panels, galleries, and more.

NFT designer VoxBox showcased its latest products on Metaverse Fashion Week runway. Its presentation was the public’s first look at VoxBox’s offerings, including two wearable robot skins to be used within the Decentraland metaverse. The company is also launching its NFT wearable VoxBox #0000 at Decentraland Marketplace.

Fashion brand Charles & Keith is also participating in the Metaverse Fashion Week. Its booth located within a luxury marketplace will remain open to public in the metaverse till April 14. Decked out in the brand’s Spring floral print, the booth will display the icons of the season: the candy-coloured Koa shoulder bag and playful tie-up Alex sandals. Avatars can explore the pop-up to view the Spring 2022 campaign video and try on digital wearables akin to a physical store experience. Guests also have the option to visit the company’s official e-commerce channel to purchase physical products of what their avatars are wearing, Charles & Keith said in a media release.

“Decentraland is a virtual social world for everyone, anywhere. Metaverse Fashion Week serves as the perfect, monumental event to introduce to the world the philosophy behind everything we build. A space built by and run for by its community. Through MVFW22, we endeavour to broaden the horizon of what ‘metaverse’ means. We just levelled up the playing field for the world of fashion and decreased the limitations. Even in the metaverse, you’ll be needing a ‘fit’,” said Decentraland Foundation’s creative director, Sam Hamilton.
