Duffers brothers are miffed at Monopoly for inadvertently spoiling Season 4 of ‘Stranger Things’ as photos of cards from the S4 board game merch surfaced online. The monopoly game reveals crucial plots from the penultimate season of the show. There’s a Reddit thread dedicated to the whole leak! The writer-producer duo are reportedly having a ‘meltdown’ over the whole fiasco! Apparently the Duffer brothers were not consulted about the board game!

A source close to the series at Netflix believes the sheer magnanimity of the franchise means a lot of events, marketing and approval required for the same. So the Monopoly game might have passed off without much oversight! Netflix definitely has landed ‘emselves in soup for this goof up. Like, this is totally unacceptable.The company anyway is a broken reed among a plethora of ek se badhkar ek OTT players in the streaming ecosystem. They shouldn’t mess with a gem of a show that got massively popular outta nowhere when no one actually assumed it would become a classic! The Netflix later quips that ‘lessons have been learned’ and there won’t be cohesion going forward in season 5!

Meanwhile Duffer brothers said in an interview with Collider that they plotted and penned the final Season 5 while working on Season 4. The pandemic gave ‘em the much needed sabbatical to work on the episodes without the grind of back to back shoots. The duo could finish the scripts even before the shoot began. That’s a first. Amidst the scripting for season 4 they plotted the entirety of season 5 as well. Thus both the seasons are interlooped like ‘a piece.’

The story of Season 4 of the highly anticipated show begins about 6 months from the swashbuckling monster slashing and soviets swatting climax of Season 3. The fate of Jim Hopper after the Starcourt Mall incident is still unknown even as the rest of the gang and Eleven carry on with their lives.
