The world woke up to the sensational news of a star kid being held by the Narcotics Control Bureau on Saturday and it’s been a barrage of scandalous stories since then. If you have somehow missed it, Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan and seven others have been arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in connection with a rave party and seizure of banned drugs onboard a Goa-bound cruise liner Saturday night. Reportedly, Khan was first detained for questioning in the raid that the NCB conducted on a cruise ship bound from Mumbai to Goa. He was later arrested under the sections 8C, 20B, 27 and 35 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act related to charges of possession, consumption and sale of illegal substances identified under the law. Others in the question are his friend Arbaaz Merchantt, Munmun Dhamecha, Nupur Sarika, Ismeet Singh, Mohak Jaswal, Vikrant Chhoker and Gomit Chopra.

NCB chief SN Pradhan was quoted saying that the raid “is a result of a painstaking investigation that went on for two weeks. We acted on specific intelligence inputs, involvement of some Bollywood links has come to light.” According to ETimes, the NCB has claimed to have seized 13gm of cocaine, 21gm of charas, 22 pills of MDMA and 5gm of mephedrone and more than Rs 1.3 lakh cash.
“During the operation, the suspects were searched and different drugs were recovered from them, which they had hidden in their clothes, undergarments and purses (by women),” an NCB official stated. It is also being said that while Aryan was taken into custody, nothing was found on him and hence, he was booked only on consumption charges. Another ETimes report even stated that Khan has been booked for consumption of charas.

Needless to say, there are several other angles to the high-profile case that are being investigated. But while the jury is still out, a lot to hate and name-calling has been directed towards SRK and his family. It is not surprising but the noise made by the same is deafening, especially when there’s hardly any peep about the murder of farmers in UP violence over ministers’ visit.
At the same time, Bollywood has more or less come together to stand by SRK and has urged people to not jump on conclusions. Recently, Suniel Shetty was asked about the same in an event, and the actor said, “Wherever there is a raid, several people are caught. And we assume that this child must have consumed drugs or this child must have done it. But the proceedings are on, let’s give that child a breather.” “Whenever something happens in Bollywood, the media scrutinises everything and jumps to conclusions. Give the child an opportunity. Let the real reports come out. Baccha hai (He’s a kid). Taking care of him is our responsibility,” he added. Others like SRK’s co-star Suchitra Suchitra Krishnamoorthi, Pooja Bhatt and Hansal Mehta also stood in solidarity with the actor who is called the Badshah of Bollywood.

Meanwhile, the star kid’s bail hearing will be held today afternoon and there are chances he might be out on bail. However, who is to say when the tweet storm will die!
