In a tweet published by the International Space Station, it informed of a video wherein the Russian Progress 80 spacecraft safely docked in. The tweet read, “The uncrewed Russian Progress 80 spacecraft automatically docked to the station’s Poisk docking compartment at 2:03am ET, delivering nearly three tons of food, fuel, and supplies to the orbiting lab.

It is pertinent to note here that the Russian aircraft was meant to deliver approximately three tons of food, fuel, and supplies for the seven-person Expedition 66 crew aboard the ISS. Russian Progress 80 spacecraft was successful in completing the same when it docked itself at the Poisk docking compartment, which forms part of the Russian segment of the ISS.

Expedition 66 is the 66th long-duration expedition to the ISS. The mission began after the departure of Soyuz-MS 8 on 17 October 2021. It was commanded by an ESA astronaut who was also the fourth European astronaut to command the ISS and first French astronaut to command the orbital laboratory. until 8 November 2021, Post that, a Russian cosmonaut took over his command.

The Progress is a Russian expendable space craft. Its purpose is to deliver the supplies needed to sustain a human presence in orbit.
