Meta unveiled a slew of new features for Facebook Messenger on January 27, 2022. End-to-end encryption, screenshot detection, text reaction, and typing indications are among the new Messenger features.

Messenger’s opt-in end-to-end encrypted chats has received new features. Users may use the screenshot detection and message response features as well. Users of WhatsApp have been hoping for this for a long time. Furthermore, Facebook has introduced features for Messenger, and they will soon be made available for WhatsApp as well.

“Today, we’re releasing an upgrade to Messenger’s opt-in end-to-end encrypted chat that adds to the messaging experience,” Timothy Buck, Messenger Product Manager, reports suggest.

It will aid in the improvement of the situation. Because developing secure and entertaining interactive features takes time and necessitates our engineers to completely resolve technological issues, this product will be updated as we enhance the features. With the advent of cybercrime and hacking, it’s more crucial than ever to discover innovative ways to communicate privately and securely with friends and family.

Chats in Messenger are now encrypted from beginning to end. Last year, Facebook began experimenting with end-to-end encryption for group conversations, including phone and video calls.

The functionality of end-to-end encryption is now available to everyone. Chats are secure and confidential thanks to end-to-end encryption. No one can see the chat except the sender and receiver. It won’t even be visible on Facebook. WhatsApp is another meta-proprietary software that claims to provide end-to-end encryption. Messenger also includes a capability that detects screenshots, which is a cool feature.

WhatsApp users have been clamoring for this feature for a long time. If a screenshot of a troublesome message has been taken, messenger will now alert users. This is the same feature available in Messenger’s Vanish mode. Facebook may enable this in the coming weeks, causing communications in end-to-end encrypted conversations to vanish.
