Sayani Gupta has made her mark with projects like Margarita with a Straw, Axone and the award-winning Four More Shots Please. And while it isn’t orchestrated, the actress whose short film Shameless was picked for the short film category for the 93rd Academy Awards, has always strived to find the right projects. And she isn’t hindered by trolls and the incessant trolling when all she is doing is shouldering the responsibility of telling stories about women’s desire and agency. Gupta understands the need to make these stories happen, even if it means facing the ire of a few (hundred) jobless people. She calls it a professional hazard and even understands the plight of the two rupees/tweet rate card.

Because, be it Shameless or Axone or Four More Shots Please, Gupta talks about each with equal gusto and the collective drive behind taking each one on. It doesn’t come with disagreements but it also comes with creative fulfillment.

Talking about her relationship with Bombay, the actress reveals one incident from her early days in the city that shaped her experience. And how the land of opportunities that can accommodate all coming its way. Even though the calcutta-bred star believes is puchka supremacy (sorry Bombay’s pani puri) along with other honorary mentions like chops and rolls and chowmein, she also spilled how she can’t resist vada pavs. And how they never stop at one! Hey, we don’t blame her! She also speaks about frequenting Nariman point and how there is something about the sea that is so calming and energizing at the same time. Watch all that and more here.
