While Marvel’s latest release ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ continues its juggernaut run at the box office, a new report suggesting the Academy reaching out to Tom Holland with an offer to host Oscar 2022 has grabbed everyone’s attention. Yes, you heard it right. According to Culture Crave, the Academy Awards has decided to have an official host for the starry night (after almost three years), and they have approached the English actor with an offer of possibly hosting the gala, after he expressed his interest in hosting the momentous night.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, when Holland was quizzed about the idea of hosting the Oscar, he initially declined the offer stating other professional commitments, but a few minutes later, he changed his mind and readily accepted the proposal. “Of course I would host the f**king Oscars! I just went to the bathroom and I was looking at myself in the mirror and I was like, ‘What kind of f**king idiot wouldn’t host the Oscars?’ So yeah, if they ask me to, I would, and it would be very fun. I would really enjoy it,” Holland said.
While the Oscar 2022 nominations are expected to be revealed in February, Holland’s ‘No Way Home’ may end up taking home a couple of honours as well. And with another Spider-Man trilogy in works, Holland has surely become one of the most bankable actors in Hollywood.
The 25-year-old actor will soon be seen alongside Mark Wahlberg in Ruben Fleischer’s ‘Uncharted’ which is an action-drama based on a video game series with the same name. Holland’s impressive performance in Jon Watts’ recently released Marvel movie has also helped him bag Fred Astaire’s biopic.
Meanwhile, the 94th Academy Awards will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California, on March 27, 2022.
