K-pop fans, assemble! Snowdrop, a highly anticipated Korean drama starring Blackpink’s Jisoo and Something In The Rain star Jung Hae-in is arriving on Disney+ Hotstar in India. The streaming platform has announced that the show will premiere on February 9, 2022. Set in the ’80s which was a period of “political turmoil” the show revolves around star-crossed lovers.

Snowdrop initially premiered on Korean TV network JTBC and Disney+ in certain regions back in December. It received rave reviews although some viewers remain divided on the political themes in the show. Controversy aside, the 16-part series is Jisoo’s big debut in a lead role and a stellar addition to Jung Hae-in’s filmography that includes hit dramas like One Spring Night, Tune In For Love and more.

Between the teasers and reactions from viewers who have already watched the show, Snowdrop promises to be a deeply emotional series filled with head-turning performances from the cast (the ensemble comprises of 23 actors). The lead pair’s chemistry has been teased in posters and videos before and from everything we know so far, it’s going to be one hell of a treat. In fact, the show ended on a high note with its finale raking in impressive TV ratings.

The show’s synopsis reads – When a blood-soaked man (Jung Hae-In) bursts into the dormitory of a women’s university in Seoul, Korea, Eun Yeong-ro (Jisoo) will go against her better judgement and risk being expelled to hide the man from his attackers and tend to his wounds. Unbeknownst to Yeong-ro, the man has a harrowing secret that threatens to put her friends’ and family’s safety at risk, and the two young lovers will have to work together to overcome the obstacles. Centered around the forbidden romance of a young couple, “Snowdrop” features Jisoo’s debut-starring performance in a Korean drama that will take viewers on an emotional rollercoaster full of excitement, action, and romance. The series follows Yeong-ro as she goes against her family and her country to help the man she loves, while Jung Hae-In puts everything on the line to save the only thing he loves more than his country, Yeong-ro.

Snowdrop will arrive on Disney+ Hotstar on February 9, 2022 with weekly episodes.
