Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s new Mercedes Maybach, which he incorporated into his security team, is stirring up controversy. In the midst of the discussion about Maybach’s price and other specifics, government officials claimed on Wednesday that the new vehicles are not an upgrade, but rather a normal replacement, as BMW had discontinued producing the type he previously used.

PM Modi previously drove a Range Rover Vogue, a Toyota Land Cruiser, and a BMW until his replacement with a Mercedes-Maybach S 650 Guard. The automobile is said to cost more than Rs 12 crore, but an official source informed the media, “The cars cost far less than the media conjecture, in reality, it is roughly one-third of the amount mentioned in the media.”

PM Modi had been driving the previous vehicles for eight years. According to insiders, a security assessment discovered this and expressed concerns that it might compromise security. Purchasing assets to improve a protector’s security is based on danger perception. According to insiders, the SPG makes these decisions without consulting the individuals they safeguard.

The Mercedes-Maybach S 650 Guard is a production automobile with the greatest level of armored protection possible. Because of the improved windows and body shell, the automobile can survive high-caliber bullets. A 6-liter twin-turbo V12 engine provides power. The highest speed is limited to 160 kilometers per hour.

The car even has unique run-flat wheels that would keep working even if they are damaged or punctured, allowing for a swift getaway.

The SPG, on the other hand, demanded that the automobile be modified to satisfy the prime minister’s security demands. Officials said that Modi has given no preference as to which automobiles to drive, pointing out that Congress president Sonia Gandhi has previously utilized Range Rovers that have been genuinely acquired for the then-prime minister.
