Popular food delivering app, Zomato, has come under the scanner once again, as a Twitter user highlighted the plight of a delivery executive, who completed his assigned task despite losing his wallet. While the company appreciated its employee’s hardwork and dedication on social media, netizens urged Zomato to compensate its employee as well while praising his work ethic. On the other hand, a few Twitter users even highlighted the inhumane working conditions of food delivery executives, reminding us of the Zomato ads featuring Bollywood actors Katrina Kaif and Hrithik Roshan. While the ads ended up receiving flak from several Twitter users, the recent incident has once again brought Zomato into the limelight.
A Twitter user, Sachin Kalbag, shared the entire incident of the Zomato executive, who delivered his food order despite losing his wallet. “Mindblown by Manish Bhageluram Gupta’s work ethic. He accidentally dropped his wallet at a restaurant where he picked up our food. It was stolen. Instead of waiting there, he came to our house to deliver our order and even said sorry for the short delay,” he wrote. Kalbag created a thread to share the entire incident and even urged Zomato to help the delivery executive with his lost documents and wallet, which he lost during the delivery.

And within no time, many other Twitter users joined in the conversation and shared their views on the same. While some praised the delivery executive’s work ethic, others slammed Zomato for creating an unfriendly environment for its workers.
Compensate him as well! Appreciation stays on a wall but he may need extra money since he lost the wallet for ensuring the Zomato brand experience

While the incident has once again raised a lot of queries over delivery executives inhumane working conditions and their fear of losing good ratings, food delivering platforms continue to battle it out for the top spot at the expense of their employees.
