    Fans of the award-winning, multi-platinum Canadian songwriter, singer and superstar Michael Bublé enjoy his smooth voice. This pop and Great American Songbook singer has recently teamed up with Fraser & Thompson Whiskey to provide smooth-tasting whiskey.

    Fraser & Thompson is a blend of Canadian Whiskey and Kentucky Bourbon. It’s the first North American Whiskey created by Bublé and Master Distiller and Blender, Paul Cirka. Together they have created a few food and cocktail pairings to inspire whiskey novices and whiskey aficionados to enjoy the spirit with a favorite meal.

    Michael Bublé appreciates how Fraser & Thompson North American Whiskey is smooth, approachable and a balanced spirit to kick-back, relax and sip. ‘Fraser & Thompson is a whiskey for everyone,’ said Michael Bublé. He pours a neat in an Old Fashioned glass to savor with his favorite Chinese takeout dish: Dungeness crab in a black bean sauce.

    Drinking whiskey ‘neat’ is a room temperature pour without any mixers or ice or water that would dilute the serving. ‘Nothing beats sitting back with a glass of F&T and some Dungeness crab in black bean sauce,’ said Bublé.

    The blood orange and sweet fig notes in Fraser & Thompson is an ideal balance of flavors with slightly salty Chinese takeout.

    One of Michael Bublé’s cherished Itaian dishes is his Nonna’s famous red meat risotto. It’s one of his favorite dishes to prepare at home. ‘I was really lucky to have a beautiful, close relationship with my grandparents, so honoring both of them through food and whiskey means a lot to me and helps keep their spirits alive,’ said Bublé. ‘It brings back memories of some of our happiest times together.’

    The songwriter collaborated with F&T to create a Honey Whiskey Sour cocktail. Here is the recipe to make at home with your own favorite Chinese takeout or Italian dish:

    Honey Whiskey Sour

    How to make the honey simple syrup:

    1/2 cup honey

    1/2 cup water

    How to make the cocktail:

    1/8 cup Fraser & Thompson North American Whiskey 

    1 TBSP Cointreau

    3 TBSP honey simple syrup

    3 TBSP orange juice

    1 TBSP freshly squeezed lemon juice

    2 dashes bitters

    A couple Maraschino cherries

    Instructions: For the simple syrup, combine the honey and water in a small saucepan.  Bring to just a simmer, then remove from heat and let cool.  Store in the fridge. For the cocktail, whisk all of the ingredients, except the cherries, in a bowl (or use a cocktail shaker filled with ice).  Pour over ice.  Add cherries, they’re mandatory.

    Michael Bublé and Fraser & Thompson think the perfect pairing for dessert is Tres Leches Cake and F&T Cola.

    ‘F&T is smooth and has a nice sweetness at the end with hints of caramel and vanilla,’ said Bublé. ‘I found it pairs well with one of my favorite desserts, Tres Leches Cake, which is an incredible dish that’s popular in Argentina. Tres leches cake is both rich and delicate at the same time, and reminds me a lot of F&T in that way. The hint of spices in the F&T Cola compliment the sweetness of the cake, and it’s truly a delicious combo.’

    2 parts F&T Whiskey

    4 parts Pepsi

    One lime

    Instructions: Combine all ingredients in a tall glass over ice. Garnish with a lime wedge.
