Our desi-girl Priyanka Chopra has not only dominated Hollywood with her stellar acting performances, but the diva has established herself as a global superstar as well. With her unrecognizable look from ‘The Matrix Resurrections’ trailer already leaving fans all pumped up about her role, the 39-year-old mesmerising beauty has already kicked-off with her next project, Amazon’s upcoming series Citadel.

Priyanka, who has been busy with the shooting of the upcoming Amazon series has kept her fans on their toes by sharing a couple of glimpses on Instagram, but its director Joe Russo’s whose statements have grabbed everyone’s attention. Talking about Citadel and its regional spin-offs, Russo told Variety, “It’s sort of an experiment in narrative. It has a flagship show that then has regional shows that are built around the core idea. They’re complementary narratives. It’s regional talent producing and creating each one of those offshoot shows. It’s a big experiment in community and partnership.”

In another interview, Russo revealed that the flagship series starring Priyanka is ‘almost done’. While the flagship show is expected to air soon, its release will be followed by the Italian, Indian and Mexican spin-offs. And with director duo Raj and DK (The Family Man makers) all set to helm the Indian spin-off, fans have been quite eagerly waiting for Citadel and its regional versions to drop soon.

While Russo refrained from sharing any details about the plot, he added that all the shows will have different characters and narratives, based in different locations but will have a common connection. “Each show features complimentary narratives, set in different locations, using different characters but are all tangentially associated with one of the two major organisations that are in the show,” Russo said.

After Citadel, the Russo Brothers’ will soon shift their focus on their next project, Extraction 2, starring Chris Hemsworth. While the sequel teaser has got fans excited already, Netflix seems to have another blockbuster in the making. On the other hand, Priyanka will soon be teaming up with Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif for Farhan Akhtar’s road trip film titled Jee Le Zara. She also has Matrix 4 and Text For You scheduled for release soon.
