And with Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia joining the conversation and promising ‘appropriate action’, the episode has gained more attention.

The incident which happened on Saturday at the Ranchi Airport gained momentum when a Facebook user share details about how the special needs child and his parents were not allowed to board the flight. While the internet seemed pretty furious with the airlines for their inhumane action, the post instantly grabbed everyone’s attention, and within no time, it was a trending on Twitter as well. Reacting to the backlash, IndiGo shared a statement and wrote that their ground staff had stopped the specially-abled child from boarding the flight as he was in a state of panic and they were waiting for him to calm down before boarding the flight. “We regret the inconvenience caused to the passengers. IndiGo prides itself on being an inclusive organisation, be it for employees or its customers; and over 75k specially-abled passengers fly with IndiGo every month,” the statement read.

“There is zero tolerance towards such behaviour. No human being should have to go through this,” Minister Scindia wrote on Twitter while responding to internet’s volatile comments. Furthermore, he even added, “Investigating the matter by myself, post which appropriate action will be taken.”
