Netherlands’ consumer price index (CPI)-measured inflation rate stood at 5.7 per cent in June 2023, as per a flash estimate by Statistics Netherlands (CBS). The rate was calculated on the basis of still incomplete source data. In May, consumer goods and services were 6.1 per cent more expensive than one year previously.

June’s currently estimated inflation rate means that prices of consumer products were on average 5.7 per cent higher than in June 2022, and therefore not on top of the 6.1-per cent inflation of May, CBS said in a press release.

As of 1996, CBS publishes two different inflation rates. One based on the CPI and one on the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP). According to the HICP flash estimate, inflation stood at 6.4 per cent in June 2023. This was 6.8 per cent in May.

The Netherlands’ inflation rate in June 2023, measured via the consumer price index (CPI), stood at 5.7 per cent, down from 6.1 per cent in May.
This reflects an average 5.7 per cent increase in consumer product prices compared to June 2022, as per a flash estimate by CBS.
The Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) put June inflation at 6.4 per cent.
