In a recent interview with India Today, the insiders explained that such changes are often made to improve the viewers’ experience on OTT. They revealed that the filmmakers sometimes adjust the pacing, trim credits and make edits to the scene which couldn’t be included in the theatrical release. Such modifications are typically communicated to the streaming platform by the production house as it aims to enhance the overall viewer experience.
The media publication additionally adds that the theatrical release of the film included a statutory disclaimer regarding smoking, which doesn’t appear in the same way on the OTT platforms. This could be one of the factors why there might be a slight difference in the runtime of the film.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar stars Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Sara Arjun, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal. Released on December 5, 2025, the second part of the film will be released on March 19, 2026. It will be released in multiple languages, including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. While the makers are yet to officially comment on the speculation, netizens believe that Dhurandhar is a prequel to Dhar’s debut film URI: The Surgical Strike.
