WhatsApp is working on the in-app camera for Android smartphones. Based on the WABetaInfo reports, the 2.22.1.2 beta update came out for Android smartphones.

Reports suggest that WhatsApp in-house camera will get a new interface besides the redesigned switch camera buttons and flash.

This new design lets the users access the recent media by tapping the lower left corner and the flash button will be moved to the top right corner.

The in-app camera look quite similar to the Apple iPhone cameras. However, the flash button is placed at the bottom left side and the Switch camera button is situated to the bottom right of the screen at present. Also, the leaked image suggest that users can no longer use swipe up gesture to access the gallery.

The latest beta update brings new emojis to the app, but these emojis already exist on iOS and Android devices.

The X Factor is that users can customize skin tones for couple emojis for multiple times on the Universal Windows platform as well. Although, this feature was rolled out with the latest beta UWP 2.2148.3.7 on Android which was previously available on iOS.

Recently, WhatsApp launched the new Windows app which resembles the web version. Users can download it from the Microsoft Store.
