As Thailand went through the terrifying tremors of a 7.7-magnitude earthquake on Friday, nothing could deter a 36-year-old dad whose family was on the other skyscraper of a plush Bangkok building connected by a fragile block that cracked apart. In split seconds without giving second thoughts, Kwon Young Jun took a leap of faith for his family over the swaying gap 600 feet above the ground. Chunks of the connecting bridge fell down during the quake.
Kwon Young Jun, a South Korean, was in the adjoining building on the 52nd floor of the condominium complex, which has three blocks connected by an air bridge. The man was in the gym when the tremors shook the building. Per reports, the man stated that at that moment he only thought of his wife and child. His 35-year-old wife, Sukanya Yutuam, stated that she was shocked when she saw the clip. Both Yutuam and the child were on the 30th floor of the other block. Meanwhile, Kwon reached the apartment only to realize his family had left. He climbed down 40 floors to finally reunite. He sustained minor injuries during his daredevil jump.
Kwon’s wife remarked, “I did not choose the wrong person.”
