Microsoft the company has finally announced that the company is retiring its oldest browser Internet Explorer. After providing service for 27 years the app is finally settling down in peace. It was first launched back in 1995 as an add-on package for Windows 95, later the company started providing the browser free as bundled with the package. Let’s have a look at the latest news.

As per the official announcement, Internet Explorer is going to be nonfunctional from June 15. Reports claim that the browser has witnessed a huge peak back in 2003 with a usage of 95 percent share, but the browser wasn’t able to hold the position and the user base started declining drastically.
Numerous competitors jumped into the browser market and started offering better user interfaces, better internet speed, and smooth performance. It seems that Internet Explorer was unable to catch up with the competition and slowly it has become just a default explorer which is used to install other browsers.

Sean Lyndersay Microsoft Edge program manager stated that “the future of Internet Explorer on Windows 10 lies in Microsoft Edge.”
“Not only is Microsoft Edge a quicker, more secure, and more contemporary browsing experience than Internet Explorer, but it also addresses a crucial concern: compatibility for older, legacy websites and applications,” he added further.
