The term ‘Virtual’ is defined as appearing to exist over the internet, but not physically. I think we need to get more used to this term in the coming days as many events like weddings, parties, birthdays, etc. are being conducted virtually due to the rise of Omicron cases.

Dinesh S P and Janaganandhini Ramaswamy, a lovely couple who met on Instagram will marry in Tamil Nadu’s Sivalingapuram hamlet on the first Sunday in February, but the wedding reception will be done virtually.

According to the Times of India, following the wedding ceremony, the couple will log into a virtual location to hold a Hogwarts-themed celebration, which will be attended by friends and family members from all over the world.

Janaganandhini, Dinesh’s girlfriend, was ecstatic at the idea of a virtual welcome on Twitter says Dinesh, an IIT Madras project associate.

She explained that they met on Instagram and planned their wedding event on Meta. Because both Dinesh and Janaganandhini are Harry Potter fans, their wedding celebration will be themed after the wizarding world.

Guests will be given login information so they may choose an avatar and go to the celebration, while the bride and groom will have avatars dressed in traditional attire. Dinesh told the Times of India that he has been a long-time cryptocurrency and blockchain tech enthusiast, having mined Ethereum for the last year. He went on to say that it was because of this that he decided to conduct his wedding celebration in the metaverse because blockchain is the foundation of the digital world.

Janaganandhini, too, thought this was an excellent way to have their wedding ceremony, given that the pair had met over Instagram. They’ve also taken into account the worldwide increase in Covid-19-related cases. Dinesh had approached Quatics Tech’s Vignesh Selvaraj, who was building Tardiverse, a location where people could gather and play.

Customers will be able to choose from Indian traditional to Western attire for their avatars at Dinesh and Janaganandhini’s wedding celebration, and will also be able to reward the couple using GPay or Crypto.
