The Batman, the biggest DC movie release of the year arrives in a matter of months and the anticipation is only rising with every day leading up to the premiere. Starring Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne, the Matt Reeves directorial will follow the journey of a young Batman as he goes up against some of Gotham City’s wildest criminals. The film not only sets up Bruce’s backstory but also involves a delightful bunch of villains including Colin Farrell’s Penguin, Paul Dano’s The Riddler and Zoe Kravitz’s Catwoman who might be an expected ally. Amidst a slew of new exciting details, Warner Bros. has now unveiled the official theme music of the film. And it’s as dark as it gets.
Composed by Michael Giacchino, an Oscar and Emmy Award-winning composer, The Batman‘s theme music is both haunting and melancholic. It makes for the perfect soundscape for the Dark Knight’s journey we’re about to witness on screen. Director Matt Reeves shared the score a lot of teasing, revealing that he has “chills” listening to it.
Time to immerse yourselves into the goosebumps-including theme music (all 6 minutes and 47 seconds) here:
Fans are lapping up the theme just like every little crumb of detail from the upcoming superhero movie.
The Batman theme may seriously be the greatest Batman theme ever. It’s soft, ominous, unhinged, violent, and absolutely terrifying. Completely beautiful.

The Batman arrives after years of waiting for a solo outing featuring the caped crusader. From all the information we currently have, it’s going to be an epic and mostly grittier take on the character. It was recently confirmed that the film is rated PG-13 and so we can certainly expect a dark plot full of bloody action scenes. We also know that the runtime is longer than initially expected. As per The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. confirmed that the film runs for 2 hours and 55 minutes including the end credits.
