Suriya’s ‘Jai Bhim’ Becomes India’s First Tamil Film To Feature On Oscars’ YouTube Channel; Fans React

South superstar Suriya’s legal drama ‘Jai Bhim’ has achieved another historical feat. Just a few weeks after surpassing the likes of ‘The Godfather’ and ‘The Shawshank Redemption’ on IMDb with a rating of 9.6, the T. J. Gnanavel directorial has become India’s first Tamil film to feature on Oscar’s official YouTube channel. Yes, you heard it right. The Academy Award recently shared a scene from ‘Jai Bhim’ which also features the ace filmmaker sharing his vision behind the highly-appreciated project.

Taking to Twitter, the producers of ‘Jai Bhim’ expressed their delight by sharing the YouTube video shared by the Academy and wrote, “An honour of the highest order! #JaiBhim has been featured in the official YouTube channel of @TheAcademy #SceneAtTheAcademy”

Needless to say, fans of the superstar, who seemed pretty impressed with his performance in the legal drama also praised the makers and Suriya for their efforts while hailing the historic achievement as a ‘proud moment’. Check out fans reactions to the news here:

Despite being mired in a couple of controversies, ‘Jai Bhim’ which is based on a true incident, managed to strike a chord with the audience. Responding to which Suriya had even penned a thank you note for all his fans. “Dear all, this love for #Jaibhim is overwhelming. I’ve never witnessed this before! Can’t express in words how thankful I am for the trust & reassurance you all have given us. Heartfelt thanks for standing by us,” Suriya had tweeted.

Apart from Suriya, director T. J. Gnanavel’s courtroom drama also features Lijomol Jose, K Manikandan and Prakash Raj in pivotal roles.
