Virat Kohli, who recently relinquished Team India’s Test and T20 captaincy after being sacked from the role of the ODI captain last year, continues to get struggle with poor form. The 33-year-old cricketer is known for his aggressive on-field attitude and swashbuckling batting, but Virat has failed to score a century in the past two years. With just two half-centuries against South Africa in the ODI series, Kohli hasn’t been able to live up to the expectations of millions of cricket fans. And in a recent interaction with media, former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar shared his views on Kohli’s poor form and blamed ‘early’ marriage as a reason for the dip in his on-field performance.
Talking to ANI, Akhtar said, “Performance pressure is there on him. I wanted him to marry after scoring 120 centuries, as I wouldn’t have married, had I been in his place.” Furthermore, Akhtar, who is also known as Rawalpindi Express, shared his views on marriage affecting a player’s game. “As the responsibility increases, so does the pressure. Cricketers have a short career span of 14-15 years in which you stay at the peak for five-six years. Those years of Virat have passed, now he has to struggle,” he added.

Meanwhile, Kohli and Anushka Sharma, who are very-much protective about their daughter Vamika, recently shared a message on social media in response to photos of Vamika going viral on the internet. “Hi guys, we realise that our daughter’s images were captured at the stadium yesterday and widely shared thereafter. We want to inform everyone that we were caught off guard and didn’t know that the camera was on us. Our stance and request on the matter stays the same. We would really appreciate if Vamika’s images and not clicked/published for reasons we have explained earlier. Thank you,” Virat posted on social media.
While many fans have come out in support of the popular couple and asked the media to respect Anushka-Virat’s privacy, photos of Anushka holding Vamika continue to make rounds on the internet.
And while Kohli continues to struggle with form as his slump continues, Anushka recently announced her next project titled ‘Chakda Xpress’. The upcoming project is a biopic based on former Indian cricket captain Jhulan Goswami’s life in which Anushka will be essaying the titular role.
