Shah Rukh Khan Shakes Hand With Lucky Fan At New York Airport Ahead Of Met Gala Debut; Watch

Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan is reportedly making his debut at the Met Gala 2025 on May 5 at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Known as ‘fashion’s biggest night out,’ this year’s gala will celebrate the Costume Institute’s exhibition, Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, inspired by Monica L. Miller’s book ‘Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity.’

Shah Rukh’s anticipated appearance, alongside fellow debutants Kiara Advani and Diljit Dosanjh, signals a historic moment for Indian representation on the global stage.

The Pathaan star arrived in New York on May 4, accompanied by his manager, Pooja Dadlani, and was spotted at John F. Kennedy International Airport. Videos and photos of his arrival quickly went viral, capturing Shah Rukh’s charm as he warmly greeted fans waiting outside the airport.

In one clip, the actor smiled broadly and extended handshakes to admirers, leaving them starstruck. A fan who shared the moment online described it as a “dream come true,” reflecting the excitement surrounding Shah Rukh’s presence in the city. Speculation about Shah Rukh’s Met Gala attendance reportedly began when Pooja Dadlani liked an Instagram post by the fashion watchdog account Diet Sabya, which hinted at the actor’s participation.

Joining Shah Rukh are Kiara Advani, who is also in New York and Diljit Dosanjh, whose Instagram Story featuring the phrase “First Time” and the song Met Gala by Gunna confirmed his debut. This trio, alongside Priyanka Chopra, will reportedly mark the largest Indian contingent at the Met Gala to date.
