Indian Cricket Team started its Asia Cup 2022 with a last over win over Pakistan in their opening match. The overall performance of the team was very good, from Bhuvaneshwar Kumar’s 4-for to Hardik Pandya’s winning six over mid-wicket, Men In Blue successfully chased down a target of 148 runs with two balls to spare.

Former Indian cricketer Madan Lal believes that the Asia Cup 2022 will be a rehearsal for Team India ahead of the upcoming T20 World Cup which is scheduled to commence this year in Australia. Happy with the all-round effort from Team India, Madan Lal took a dig at the team selection committee as he said that they will be making a “big mistake” if they don’t select Mohammad Shami for the world cup.

In an interview, the former cricketer said that Indian pacer Mohammad Shami is the “best bowler after Jasprit Bumrah”. He further added that he prefers picking up a bowler who “could get wickets” and not those who would only “look to contain runs”. He said that India could stop the flow of runs if they aim to pick up more wickets.

He shed some light on Shami’s previous performances and said that he is a “great bowler and he has done well in Australia”. According to madan lal, Mohammad Shami is one of the “best bowlers” in the world. The Indian pacer picked up 20 wickets in 16 Indian Premier League matches this year at an economy of 8. He played for Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat Titans who won their maiden title. Shami has not been a part of India’s T20 squad for almost a year now despite performing well in the IPL and in his previous outings in the blue jersey.
