The rise of online streaming/OTT platforms amid the pandemic has introduced the Indian audience to an ocean of international web series and movies. And one show which became an instant hit in the country was Money Heist. The Spanish heist-crime drama which is originally titled, ‘La casa de Papel’ which came to an end last month, turned out to become a massive hit in India, with its Spanish actors also striking a chord with the audience.

And given the immense love that the Indian audience has showered on the Spanish actors, Esther Acebo, who essayed the role of Mónica Gaztambide/Stockholm in the heist drama, recently shared a glimpse of the Lord Ganesha’s painting that she has in her house. Popular Indian YouTuber Bhuvan Bam, who attended the grand premiere of the ‘Money Heist’ finale in Spain last year, had the time of his life interacting with the actors of the series. And during his recent appearance on The Bombay Journey, Bhuvan revealed that the Spanish actors were all quite aware of their and the show’s popularity in India.

Given the immense craze of the ‘Money Heist’ in India, popular director duo Abbas Mustan decided to the heist drama a desi-spin. From announcing a movie titled ‘Three Monkeys’ to roping in Arjun Rampal to essay the role of Professor (Álvaro Morte), the director-duo have already kicked off the project last year. Abbas’ son Mustafa is also reported to be a part of this project.
