In accordance with the new India IT Rules, 2021, Google deleted 1,11,493 harmful pieces of material in June of this year as a result of user complaints. While other categories included trademarks, court orders, explicit sexual material, fraud, and others, copyright infringement accounted for the majority of the content that was deleted.

The internet company received 32,717 complaints from people in the nation within the same time frame about third-party content on various Google platforms that they thought to be infringing on personal or local legal rights. The complaints fall into many categories.

According to Google, some requests could make claims of intellectual property rights infringement, while others would assert that local laws limiting certain sorts of material based on things like defamation were broken.

In its monthly compliance report, it stated, “In addition to what our users report, we substantially spend in battling dangerous information online and employing technology to detect and remove it from our platform. The corporation said that it removed 528,846 accounts nationwide as part of its automatic identification processes.
