Germany’s BASF announces personnel changes

Germany’s chemical giant BASF has announced personnel changes involving Tobias Dratt and Marc Ehrhardt. Dratt, currently serving as the president of the North America division, has been assigned to lead the division of Global Business Services in Ludwigshafen, Germany. Meanwhile, Ehrhardt, the current president of Global Business Services in Ludwigshafen, will head the division of North America in Florham Park, New Jersey.

Both Dratt and Ehrhardt will be assuming their new responsibilities effective May 1, 2023, BASF said in a press release.

The company has assigned Tobias Dratt, president, North America, to division Global Business Services in Germany and Marc Ehrhardt, president, Global Business Services, to division North America in New Jersey.
Both presidents will assume their new responsibilities on May 1, 2023

Born in 1972 in Mannheim, Germany, Dratt studied business administration, and graduated as Diplom-Kaufmann. He began his journey with BASF in 1998, joining the company as a specialist in corporate audit. He has since held various leadership positions across the world. 

Prior to his role in North America, Dratt served as the senior vice president of regional functions and business centres for South America at BASF SA in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Dratt also served as senior vice president of treasury for BASF SE in Ludwigshafen, Germany.

Dratt was vice president of finance and controlling, Asia Pacific for BASF East Asia Regional Headquarters Ltd in Hong Kong, China, and director of finance, administration, and operations for the Business Center Turkiye, Middle East, and North Africa at BASF Turk Kimya San Ltd Sti in Istanbul, Turkiye. He also served as manager of subsidiary financing and mergers and acquisitions at BASF Aktiengesellschaft.

Born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, in 1968, Ehrhardt has studied at the Technical University of Berlin, Germany, and completed his diploma in industrial engineering and management in 1996.

Ehrhardt’s career with BASF began in 1996, when he joined the company as part of the corporate audit team in Ludwigshafen, Germany. He has since held various leadership positions across the world, including head of planning and reporting for BASF SA in Sao Paulo, Brazil; and head of finance and administration for BASF Argentina SA in Buenos Aires, and for BASF Chile SA in Santiago de Chile, Chile.

Before his current role, Ehrhardt served as the president of finance at BASF SE in Ludwigshafen, Germany. Prior to this, he was the senior vice president of mobile emissions catalysts for BASF Corporation in Iselin, New Jersey, US; senior vice president of business management for BASF Plant Science, and Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, US; and director of Global Strategic Marketing Insecticides for BASF Corporation in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, US.
