My Name Is Khan will prove to be a different and difficult watch today. The Shah Rukh Khan starrer revolves around a Muslim man who is reduced to his surname in a post 9/11 world. Who would knew it would come to this one day? A Muslim superstar, hounded and mobbed by the media, while visiting his son in jail following a drug bust where there was no drug found on him. Just a supposed ‘let’s have a blast’ in chats which somehow got his bail rejected and not for the first time.
And this is the price for someone who can afford the best legal aid and help, unlike the many unnamed and unidentified cases of lynching. I don’t know who religious Khan is or isn’t but one would be a fool to avoid faith in this dialogue because look around you! Not only was Aryan Khan arrested in a case related to the alleged seizure of drugs from a cruise ship. But he has been in jail since October 3 even though there wasn’t any trace of contraband substances on him.

Meanwhile, a team of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) went to Shah Rukh Khan’s house, Mannat yesterday. It was earlier reported to be a raid but NCB’s zonal director Sameer Wankhede was quoted saying, “NCB team visited Shah Rukh Khan’s residence to collect some documents related to Aryan Khan. For seeking certain material related to the investigation of the case from Khan by following due procedure of notice. It wasn’t a raid as erroneously reported in certain sections/channels of media.”
Even Bollywood actress Ananya Panday was questioned by the NCB after the officials seized her mobile phone and laptop. It is being alleged that Chunky Pandey’s daughter, in chats, agreed to arrange ganja for Aryan. She has denied procuring and consuming and has appeared at the NCB office again for further questioning.
