One of the most loved South couples, Dhanush K Raja and Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth, have decided to part ways. The couple, who tied the knot on November 18, 2004, announced their decision to separate with a joint statement which they shared on social media on Monday.
Taking to Twitter, the ‘Maari’ actor shared the statement which read as, “18 years of togetherness as friends, couple as parents and well-wishers to each other. The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting, and adapting. Today we stand at a place where our paths separate. Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better. Please do respect our decision and give us the needed privacy to deal with this. Aishwaryaa, the eldest daughter of South superstar Rajinikanth, also shared the statement on Instagram and wrote, “No caption needed… only your understanding n your love necessary!” Check out her post here:
Dhanush and Aishwaryaa, who have two sons – Yatra and Linga, have even collaborated on the work front on multiple occasions. While Dhanush is known for his entertaining on-screen performances, Aishwaryaa had entered the Tamil film industry as a playback singer, but soon turned to direction.
Last seen in Aanand L. Rai’s ‘Atrangi Re’ alongside Akshay Kumar and Sara Ali Khan, Dhanush has managed to impress the audience with yet another breathtaking performance. Apart from the long list of regional movies, the 38-year-old actor also has a Hollywood project titled ‘The Gray Man’. Helmed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the action-thriller also stars Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans and Ana De Armas in pivotal roles.
