The National Board of Revenue (NBR) in Bangladesh is actively seeking budget proposals from business organisations to ensure that the fiscal 2024-25 budget is inclusive, equitable, and citizen centric.

According to media reports, all chambers and associations across the country have been requested to submit their budget suggestions in written format to the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) by February 8.

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has sought budget ideas from businesses for an inclusive 2024-25 fiscal plan.
All the chambers are urged to submit proposals to the FBCCI by February 8, emphasising citizen-centricity.
Soft copies via email are encouraged as NBR prioritises diverse inputs for an equitable budget, aiming for economic growth.

The NBR has specifically instructed chambers and associations to forward their budget proposals to FBCCI in writing by the specified date to facilitate budget preparation.

Additionally, organisations are asked to send a soft copy of their proposals to the chief budget coordinator and first secretary SM Sohail Rahman via email.

These proposals will be given due consideration by the National Board of Revenue as they strive to craft a comprehensive budget plan.

Moreover, institutions, organisations, or departments not affiliated with any chamber or association are encouraged to directly submit their budget suggestions via email.

The NBR notification underscores the importance of gathering diverse perspectives to inform the budgetary process.

By actively soliciting input from a wide range of stakeholders, the NBR aims to develop a budget that reflects the needs and priorities of the nation, fostering economic growth and prosperity.
