Apple’s October event was packed with hardware that set new standards for professional laptops. For the first time in over twenty years, Apple didn’t have an Intel chip in its professional hardware.

Instead, the new and more powerful M1 Pro and M1 Max replaced the inefficient intel chips to leave the new MacBook Pro with little competition from the Windows side. Apple even triumphantly announced the return of proper ports, although it was them that took them away in the first place.

As excited as the internet was about the new MacBooks, they were also outraged about the price. In the US, the new laptops start at an already eye-popping $1999 and could be spec’d all the way up to $6099.

In India, they are even more expensive, with each spec being an extra ₹50,000 at the very least. The base model 14-inch MacBook Pro starts at ₹194,900 and for the most expensive 16-inch model, you’ll need to shell out over ₹3,29,900.

However, there was one other hardware that was silently made available by Apple after the event. For just $19 (or ₹1900 in India), you could get a fancy microfiber cloth to polish all your fancy hardware. For comparison, the most expensive microfiber cloth on Amazon India cost just under ₹400.

That leaves the Apple product with a “healthy” amount of margin. Naturally, the “accessory” drew a lot of flack from people on social media. Yet, as first spotted by MacRumors, so many people in the United States have pre-ordered it, that shipping times for new orders stretch for months.

However, if you’re in India, you can get the product within a few days. And since it is the only Apple accessory listed to be backward compatible with almost all other Apple products on its site, you can go ahead and polish all your new hardware, as well as the old ones.
