With Maharashtra’s CM Uddhav Thackeray declaring theatres to reopen from October 22, Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif’s much-awaited cop drama Sooryavanshi has finally got a release date. With the film all set to release on Diwali this year, Akshay took to social media to share the news with his fans with a never-seen-before BTS picture with Ranveer Singh, Ajay Devgn and director Rohit Shetty from the film’s set. While fans were busy sharing their excitement post Akshay’s announcement, IPS officer RK Vij highlighted the point that an inspector would never sit in front of his seniors. “Inspector Saheb is sitting (Tan Kar) and SP Saheb is standing, it doesn’t happen like this, sir,” the Spl DGP from Haryana wrote.

Responding to the tweet, Kumar clarified that the image wasn’t a still from the film, but a behind-the-scenes click and also added that the entire crew was careful with the protocols while filming the project. Kumar wrote, “Sir, this is a behind the scenes photo. We artists are like this, as soon as the camera turns on, the protocol does too. Regards forever to our great police forces. Hope you like the film when you watch it.”

Akshay Kumar’s humble response not only cleared IPS officer RK Vij’s doubts but left him impressed as well. “Thank you for your response and respect you showed for the forces @akshaykumar. My comment was also in a lighter vein. Will definitely watch the film,” he wrote post Kumar’s reply to his tweet highlighting the error in the BTS click.

While Akshay Kumar and the IPS Officer’s banter grabbed a lot of attention, fans are eagerly waiting to catch all the action in cinema halls soon. While Rohit Shetty continues to expand his cop universe (post Singham and Simmba) with Sooryavanshi, the action-drama which was supposed to release on March 24 last year is finally coming in cinema halls on Oct. 22.
