American Express Expanding Centurion Lounge Network in Boston, Charlotte, Dallas

American Express has announced plans to expand its premium airport Centurion Lounge Network, currently offering access to 32 locations, with new and enhanced spaces for Card Members including:

  • The Centurion Lounge at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), expected to open in 2029
  • The second-ever Sidecar by The Centurion Lounge at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT), expected to open in 2027
  • An expanded Centurion Lounge at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), expected to open in 2027

“American Express has long been at the forefront of the airport lounge experience, and we continue to build on that legacy and raise the bar as we grow our network,” said Audrey Hendley, president, American Express Travel. “We listen closely to our Card Members and evolve our lounges to meet their needs, whether that’s opening Centurion Lounges in new places, introducing new concepts like Sidecar by The Centurion Lounge for shorter stays or expanding existing locations. We continue to innovate across our lounge network, while staying true to what makes the Centurion Lounge experience special.”

At the three lounges, along with select U.S. locations in the Centurion Lounge Network, seasonal menus will be crafted by The Culinary Collective by The Centurion Lounge featuring James Beard-award-winning chefs. Bar Director Harrison Ginsberg will create locally-inspired cocktails, while sommelier Helen Johannesen will curate the Centurion Lounge network wine program.

A New Centurion Lounge Coming to Boston Logan International Airport (BOS)

American Express has signed a lease to open a new Centurion Lounge at BOS, expanding its lounge network to one of the Northeast’s busiest travel hubs. The two-story lounge will be among the largest in the Centurion Lounge Network and will feature an outdoor terrace.

Inspired by Boston’s historic character and coastal charm, the lounge will incorporate artwork from local artists and design elements. The space will also feature signature amenities Card Members know, including dedicated workstations, outlets and USB ports, premium food and beverage options, seating areas, complimentary access to high-speed Wi-Fi and more.

“We’re excited to collaborate with American Express to start building the new Centurion Lounge in Terminal C at Boston Logan, which will be a premium space for passengers to relax and recharge,” said Ed Freni, Executive Director of Aviation, Massport. “The space will have thoughtfully designed features and Logan’s first ever open-air patio with views of the airfield, and will deliver an elevated experience that reflects our commitment to enhancing the customer experience.”

The lounge is expected to open in Terminal C in 2029, and additional details will be shared closer to opening.

Sidecar by The Centurion Lounge Coming to Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT)

To complement the existing Centurion Lounge at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT), American Express is also opening its next Sidecar by The Centurion Lounge. The more intimate format lounge debuted earlier this year at Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) in Las Vegas. It is designed with solo and small groups of travelers who have limited time before their flight, but still want a premium, refined experience. Guests can order small plates, cocktails and wine via a QR code, and menu items are quickly delivered to their seats.

Inspired by Charlotte’s heritage and craft traditions, the design will merge Southern charm with contemporary elegance. The space will include a Blue Roast by American Express Coffee Bar and offer signature amenities, including private restrooms, accessible power outlets and USB ports and access to complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi. Eligible Card Members will be eligible to access Sidecar by The Centurion Lounge within 90 minutes before their flight departs.

“Sidecar by the Centurion Lounge is a welcome addition for passengers seeking a quick break with premium amenities,” said Ted Kaplan, Chief Business & Innovation Officer, Charlotte Douglas International Airport. “It reflects strong demand for premium spaces and our commitment to an elevated passenger experience.”

The Charlotte Sidecar location is expected to open in Concourse A in 2027.

“We are excited to see American Express’ continued investment in enhancing the lounge experience at DFW,” said Ken Buchanan, EVP and Chief Revenue Officer, Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. “This project reflects a shared commitment to providing modern, high-quality amenities that meet the evolving needs of our customers, while continuing to elevate the overall terminal environment.”

The Centurion Lounge at DFW is located in Terminal D near Gate D12. The expanded lounge is expected to open in 2027.
