Reactions poured in on social media as netizens shared their frustration over the deal, which will lead to Netflix’s monopoly, possible theater shutdowns, etc. Some reacted with memes.

One user wrote, “This is insane and I really have a bad feeling it will contribute to the death of cinema.” Another jibed, “Congrats, Netflix, on officially murdering cinema.” A third user quipped, “It’s Amazon with mgm, Netflix with wb and Disney with Fox. All the old Hollywood is gone.” Yet another user noted, “Next month: ‘Dear Netflix user, we recently acquired Warner Brothers and well, to pay for this, we will be raising the price of all our memberships.’”

While speculations abound, the Netflix-Warner Bros deal will face anti-trust heat in both US and Europe besides the industry union revolting.
