Marriott Bonvoy is taking luxury travelers beyond the lobby and into the wild with the launch of Marriott Bonvoy Outdoors, a new digital platform designed to inspire and simplify outdoor adventures. Alongside it, the company is unveiling a new lifestyle brand, the Outdoor Collection by Marriott Bonvoy, highlighting properties and stays set amid some of the world’s most striking natural landscapes.
Marriott Bonvoy Outdoors: A New Way to Travel Outside
The platform aims to help travelers find their next adventure based not just on where they want to go, but on what they love to do. Guests can now search across more than 450 hotels, 50,000 Homes & Villas, and curated Tours & Activities that grant direct access to pursuits like skiing, surfing, hiking, glamping, diving, biking, fishing, and paddling. Think skiing the Swiss Alps from W Verbier, paddle boarding in Banff while staying at Moxy, or diving off the Belize coast near Alaia Belize, Autograph Collection.
“We built Marriott Bonvoy Outdoors to help people, whether that’s cresting a mountain trail, catching the perfect wave, or simply finding quiet under the stars,” Peggy Roe, Marriott International’s executive vice president and chief customer officer, said in a statement. “Travel is at its best when it speaks to who we are and what we love. It’s about reconnecting with yourself and the people you love in the places that inspire you most.”

The Outdoor Collection: Cabins and Boutique Hotels in Nature
The new Outdoor Collection by Marriott Bonvoy is designed as a portfolio of design-forward stays where access to nature is the main amenity. Observers like yours truly will also tell you the new collection leapfrogs Marriott into a space its competitors currently play in a la Hilton’s partnership with AutoCamp and Hyatt’s with Under Canvas; alas, those are more alliance than outright brand play like Marriott is doing.
The first two brands to debut in the collection are Postcard Cabins and Trailborn Hotels. Postcard Cabins brings more than 1,200 Scandinavian-inspired retreats across 29 U.S. locations, each within two hours of major cities. The properties are designed to encourage disconnection from daily life and reconnection with nature, with private fire pits, clean-lined interiors, and easy access to trails, lakes, and star-filled skies.
Trailborn Hotels, meanwhile, brings a boutique sensibility to bucket-list destinations such as the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Grand Canyon, and Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. Each property blends contemporary architecture with a deep sense of place, complemented by curated dining and cultural programming. Guests can expect field guides, guided excursions, and doorstep access to some of America’s most awe-inspiring landscapes.
Dylan Efron and the Drop Pin Challenge
To build excitement, Marriott Bonvoy has teamed up with TV personality (first “The Traitors” and now “Dancing With the Stars”!) and filmmaker Dylan Efron on the Drop Pin Challenge. This treasure hunt across 20 U.S. and Canadian destinations offers 10 million Marriott Bonvoy points to participants. The first 50 people to find and scan a pin in each location can earn 10,000 points, while Efron kicked off the first pin drop near Big Bear Lake, CA.

The company is also expanding its Marriott Bonvoy Moments program with outdoor experiences in partnership with Outside Interactive. The first offerings include a hike along Kauai’s dramatic coastline paired with kayaking in Hanalei Bay, while other announced adventures range from kayaking in the Maldives to snorkeling in Belize. A special one-point Drop Pin Moment with Dylan Efron is expected to launch in November, with additional outdoor-focused experiences rolling out through 2026.
Why It Matters for Advisors
For luxury advisors, Marriott’s push outdoors reflects a growing demand for high-end adventure travel that doesn’t compromise on comfort. With both a curated collection of properties and a platform designed to simplify planning, Marriott is positioning itself to compete directly with boutique outdoor brands and adventure operators—while still leaning on its vast global loyalty ecosystem.
“With the new Outdoor Collection by Marriott Bonvoy, our curated Marriott Bonvoy Moments, and even playful activations like the Drop Pin Challenge with Dylan Efron, we’re not just offering places to stay, we’re opening doors to experiences that inspire, connect, and stay with you forever,” Roe said.
