The trailer for Thamma, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna, is out and receiving praise. The horror comedy is generating excitement, especially after writer Niren Bhatt hinted at a major werewolf reveal. Bhatt shared that Thamma introduces a massive new werewolf and ties into the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe.
The trailer showcases a fierce clash between a werewolf and a vampire, sparking speculation about Varun Dhawan’s return as Bhediya. Bhatt told Zoom, “In Thamma, we have a huge werewolf. Now, whether it is Varun Dhawan or Kriti Sanon, we will get to know in the film. In Bhediya, we showed Bhaskar as a normal wolf. The version in Thamma is more muscular and bigger. How did that version form? We have answers in the film.”
The first song, Tum Mere Na Huye, Na Sahi, from Thamma is also out. Rashmika portrays a heartbroken girl, while her dynamic with Ayushmann adds pain and allure. The song’s deep lyrics and captivating dance routine make it unforgettable. Madhubanti Bagchi, known for Aaj Ki Raat from Stree 2, delivers soulful vocals alongside Sachin-Jigar, creating a haunting yet addictive track.
The Thamma trailer was launched at a grand Mumbai event, attended by Stree star Shraddha Kapoor. The makers shared, “A forgotten legend from our folklore, #Thamma takes centre stage this Diwali. Maddock Horror Comedy Universe presents a bloody love story, produced by Dinesh Vijan & Amar Kaushik and directed by Aditya Sarpotdar. In cinemas worldwide on 21st October.”
Rashmika’s character, Tadaka, revives an ancient legend, Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Yakshaashan delivers a chilling moment, and Ayushmann’s Alok faces supernatural changes like bloodshot eyes and burning skin. The trailer’s stunning visuals and VFX promise a unique spectacle. Set for a Diwali release, Thamma blends romance, humor, drama, and supernatural suspense, telling the story of two lovers fighting against all odds.
The trailer has received an overwhelming response, positioning Thamma as a major cinematic experience in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe. Tum Mere Na Huye, Na Sahi offers a glimpse into the film’s magic, madness, and mystery. Meanwhile, Varun Dhawan returns as the werewolf in Bhediya 2, set for an Independence Day release, further expanding the Horror Comedy Universe. Another film, Chamunda, will bring more supernatural thrills in December.
