The King Khan of Bollywood, superstar Shah Rukh Khan, has finally received his first-ever National Film Award for his performance in his movie Jawan. The Atlee directorial made an exceptional business at the box office in 2023. In the movie, he was in a double role, essaying the role of a father and son duo, locking horns with the villain played by Vijay Sethupathi. On Tuesday, he attended the 71st National Film Awards ceremony, alongside his friends and acquaintances, who were also honoured in their respective fields.

While being introduced by the Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Sanjay Jaju, addressed SRK as the “King of Arts.” Quoted by News18, he was heard saying, “he man whose smile crosses borders and whose dialogues have become part of our collective vocabulary receives his first award. His journey from Delhi theatre to global stardom is a story in itself. Main kaun hoon, kya hoon, ya sirf Jawan hoon — the answer is simple: he is not just a National Award winner but the King of Arts.”
