Param Sundari Advance Booking: Sidharth Malhotra & Janhvi Kapoor’s Movie Sells Over 12,000 Tickets

Param Sundari, a Bollywood romantic comedy starring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, is set to release in theaters on August 29. Directed by Tushar Jalota and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, the film has already gained attention with its popular songs.

Advance booking for Param Sundari began on August 26. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, nearly 10,000 tickets were sold for the opening day within the first 24 hours on platforms like BookMyShow and District apps. This number is expected to grow as the release date approaches and word of mouth spreads.

Romantic comedies typically rely on walk-in audiences, family viewers, and positive feedback rather than massive advance bookings like action or franchise films. However, the success of another romantic film, Saiyaara, suggests it’s too early to predict audience trends for love stories.

Param Sundari is projected to earn around ₹10 crore net on its opening day, with potential for more if reviews and public response are favorable. The story follows Param, a Punjabi man from Delhi (Malhotra), who falls in love with Sundari, a girl from Kerala (Kapoor), leading to fun and chaos. Sidharth Malhotra told ANI, “With Param Sundari, I feel like I’m revisiting the kind of romance I grew up loving, but telling it in a way that feels fresh and relatable. Param has that Delhi boy charm, with a love story that makes you cross worlds. We wanted it to look as beautiful as it feels, and Kerala’s magic really made that happen. I hope the audience feels the same warmth and joy we felt while making it.”

Janhvi Kapoor shared her connection to her character, saying, “Sundari is deeply personal to me. Her grace, quiet strength, and love for her roots resonate with my own South Indian heritage. Shooting in Kerala, surrounded by such beauty, I felt an emotional connection to her world that I hope the audience will feel too.”
