W Hotels Makes Its All-Inclusive Debut in Punta Cana

Marriott’s W Hotels brand is diving into new waters with the opening of W Punta Cana, Adult All-Inclusive, its first-ever all-inclusive resort. The Dominican Republic debut marks a significant expansion for W, known globally for its design-forward style and nightlife edge.

The property, a collaboration with Grupo Puntacana and MAC Hotels, sits on a stretch of Punta Cana beachfront, reimagining what the brand calls “all-inclusive luxury” for an adults-only audience. Instead of a volume-driven resort model, W Punta Cana leans into bold design, immersive entertainment and a broad range of culinary concepts—12 venues in total—meant to blur the line between dining, nightlife and cultural connection.

“W Punta Cana marks a bold and exciting evolution for W Hotels as the brand enters the all-inclusive space with the same tuned-in spirit and magnetic energy that defines the brand,” said George Fleck, senior vice president and brand leader, W Hotels. “This resort is a statement that all-inclusive can be anything but expected.”

The resort’s 340 rooms start at a generous 700 square feet and all feature king-size beds—a rarity in Punta Cana, where many resorts still emphasize double-bed configurations. Forty-six of those suites come with swim-up pools, while a select few offer full-sized private pools. Architecture and interiors from Spain’s Zanobia Arquitectura draw on Dominican influences, with motifs inspired by larimar stone, colonial tobacco plantations and Caribbean flora woven into W’s signature contemporary look.

Dining is one of the cornerstones of the new resort. Guests will find a global approach ranging from a food-hall-style marketplace with live-action stations to an upscale Caribbean-driven restaurant. Cocktails take center stage as well, with venues like Taproom (a modern spin on a microbrewery), a beachfront club, and even a speakeasy where vinyl records set the soundtrack.

Entertainment programming emphasizes both connection and creativity, with DJ-led sound baths, silent discos, rooftop sets, and performances curated in collaboration with Dominican music collectives. The AWAY Spa incorporates local healing traditions with treatments using moringa seed oil and other regional products, while the FIT gym and wellness rituals take advantage of the beachfront setting.

“Now, we’re dialing up the bold and bringing our iconic edge to the Dominican Republic with the debut of W Punta Cana,” said, Brian King, Marriott International’s president for the Caribbean and Latin America. “This isn’t just a resort—it’s a vibe, a movement, a new way to travel.”

For Marriott, the debut represents not just a Punta Cana play but the first step in a broader strategy to bring W into the all-inclusive sector. Additional W all-inclusive properties are already planned for Corasol Playa del Carmen and Costa Mujeres later this decade.

For luxury advisors, W Punta Cana offers a new angle in the competitive Caribbean market: an adults-only, high-design resort that aims to fuse W’s signature energy with a more experiential spin on all-inclusive travel.
