So, it is no news that Apple is a leader when it comes to innovation. A leader when it comes to innovating new ways to get people to overpay for their products. And hey, for context, this is an iPhone user this side. Not just the gadgets, even Apple accessories follow suit with a head-scratching rate card. In fact, after a successful October event that introduced the new iPhone 13 (and the array of memes it inspired), Apple on Monday launched new hardware that has become the talk of the town. Again.

If you have missed Apple Event II: The Apple-ing, Tim Cook and Co. unveiled Apple’s new MacBook Pro powered by M1 Pro and M1 Max chips, Third generation AirPods, HomePod mini in fun new colors and an Apple Music Voice Plan. Well, all that and a Polishing Cloth that is priced for INR 1,900. You read that right!

According to the tech-giant, the cloth is “made with soft, non-abrasive material, the Polishing Cloth cleans any Apple display, including nano-texture glass, safely and effectively.” It even comes with its own compatibility list. How inclusive! Sarcasm apart, nothing can dissuade loyalists who rushed to grab their piece. Reportedly, the cloth which retails for $19 in the US has already gone out of stock in the West with the next batch expected to ship in six to eight weeks.
While it is a long wait, Twitter is here doing what it does best and at least one is entertained. Because, and there is no way to say this, people are confused if the Polishing Cloth is for cleaning or wiping tears. Also, memes…Have a dekko!
