Instagram claims that it will soon kill the once most used IGTV feature. In a recent announcement, the company stated that it’s making the video offerings strong. As a part of it, the company is removing the IGTV feature.

Previously, Instagram launched the IGTV app to compete with YouTube in the long video content. But, the arrival of Instagram reels completely shifted the momentum as most people are addicted to short video content now.

“Reels continues to be a growing and important part of Instagram and we are excited to invest even more in this format.” the company shared in a recent blog.

IGTV videos used to appear on the main feed. Even IGTV feature has so many fans including us and it’s obviously a sad day. Moreover, Instagram also shuts off IGTV ads to focus on the fast-growing reels.

Despite heavy investment and work, ads aren’t showing up on reels. Nevertheless, Instagram is set to introduce ads for reels this year which allows creators to earn some bucks through ad revenue.
