Japan and Bangladesh have enormous potential to further engage in trade and investment for higher benefits, Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) president Faruque Hassan said while exchanging views with ambassador of Japan to Bangladesh ITO Naoki recently. The latter paid a courtesy visit to the BGMEA office in Dhaka.
They discussed possible ways to expand bilateral trade, further deepen the relationship, remove existing trade barriers and initiate communication between fashion businesses on both sides.
Hassan mentioned about Bangladesh’s intention to raise the share of readymade garment exports to Japan and urged the ambassador to encourage Japanese businessmen to make investments in Bangladesh’s non-cotton textile sector.
