WhatsApp has allegedly begun rolling out the first beta feature for iOS users in 2022. According to WABetaInfo, iPhone users will be able to see profile photographs of senders alongside message alerts with the new feature.

When you receive a new message from an individual user or a group, the new feature will enable you to view tiny images of the sender in the notifications as per the screenshot.

The capability is only available to select beta testers using the iOS 15 operating system, according to the source, because it needs iOS 15 APIs. With the impending improvements, the Facebook-owned company would purportedly make the function available to more people.

WhatsApp may encounter some difficulty showing profile images to particular alerts while the function is still in development, but these issues will most likely be rectified once the feature is rolled out to the general public. WhatsApp also started rolling out a beta update 2.22.1.1 for iOS users last week.

In future upgrades, the update is said to include concealed references to a feature that would allow users to form Communities. A similar hidden reference was discovered in the beta upgrade for Android cellphones that was issued two weeks ago.

For those who are unaware, the Facebook-owned messaging app has been developing a Community feature for quite some time.

A Community, like a Group, has a name and a description, according to screenshots posted by WABetaInfo. Users can establish a new Group or link up to 10 Groups after providing the name and description. In the Community, there is also an ‘Announcement’ Group.

According to the report, WhatsApp would establish this group for admins automatically. The Group admins can use this feature to send a message to all of the connected Groups.
