‘Avengers: Endgame’ marked the end of a successful era of superheroes for Marvel, but it looks like the giant production house has picked up from where they left. The phenomenal success of Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow and Simu Li’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings have motivated Marvel to go all guns blazing with their most-awaited project ‘Eternals’. Helmed by Oscar-winning director Chloe Zhao, the project boasts an impressive star cast comprising of Gemma Chan, Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Kumail Nanjiani, Lauren Ridloff, Kit Harrington, Richard Madden, Don Lee, Barry Keoghan, Harish Patel, and Brian Tyree Henry.

With Zhao’s upcoming project all set to introduce Marvel fans to a whole new set of immortal superheroes created by Celestials, the ace filmmaker hailed them as ‘Earth’s original superheroes’ in a recent interview. Furthermore, Zhao also confirmed that the superhero movie will be one of the long movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. “You know, it’s ten characters, the Celestials and 7,000 years. There’s a lot going on,” she added.

According to the previous Marvel outings, Avengers: Endgame (181 minutes) tops the list of longest-duration films (due to obvious reasons) while Thor: The Dark World and The Incredible Hulk (112 minutes) surprisingly tie for the last spot. But post-Zhao’s revelation, it looks like Eternals could easily occupy the second spot which is currently held by Avengers: Infinity War (149 minutes).

While the Academy Award-winning had a hard time choosing her favourite character from Eternals, she also reveal that the Marvel project will feature two post-credit scenes which have ‘big surprises’ for the audience. Zhao stated, “Don’t just stay for the first one, also stay for the second one, too. They are equally as important in weight, and both have big surprises for you.”

One of the most-awaited projects of 2021, Eternals is all set to release on November 5, in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam in India.
