Wynn Resorts & Aman Unite to Launch Janu Al Marjan Island in the UAE

Do we call this a case of strange luxury bedfellows—or a union so unique it could only happen in the UAE?

Wynn Resorts and Aman Group are teaming up on Al Marjan Island for the debut of Janu Al Marjan Island, the UAE launch of Aman’s contemporary sister brand. The new resort, slated to open in late 2028, will rise directly across from the under-construction Wynn Al Marjan Island and will be managed and operated by Aman Group, famed for its design-led hotels, resorts, and branded residences.

“The Aman Group team is world class, and we are delighted to have them as a neighbor,” Max Tappeiner, president of Wynn Al Marjan Island, said in a statement. “Beyond the standalone merits of the investment, we expect Janu’s guests and residential owners will be an additional source of high-quality visitation to Wynn Al Marjan Island.”

Described as a brand built around “soulful luxury,” Janu — which means “soul” in Sanskrit — centers its guest experience on genuine human connection, playful expression and social wellness. The property will feature 132 rooms with sweeping Arabian Gulf views, a Janu Wellness center with a yoga studio, banya, hammam, and gym and a Mixology Bar, two signature restaurants and a nightlife venue. A private beach, Beach Club, and pool will round out the lifestyle-driven amenities, along with a Kids’ Club for family travelers.

Next door, a residential tower will house Janu Residences with one- to five-bedroom units and a limited collection of standalone villas, adding another layer of exclusivity to Al Marjan Island’s emerging luxury enclave.

“The arrival of Janu Al Marjan Island by Aman Group marks a defining moment in Ras Al Khaimah’s evolution as a world-class lifestyle and hospitality destination,” Arch. Abdulla Al Abdouli, CEO of Marjan, added in a statement. “This collaboration with Aman Group and our partner Wynn Resorts reflects our commitment to curating exceptional experiences that resonate with discerning global travelers. Janu’s philosophy of soulful luxury aligns perfectly with our vision for Al Marjan Island, and we are proud to welcome this iconic brand to our growing portfolio of landmark developments.”

The announcement reinforces Al Marjan Island’s growing cachet among the world’s top luxury developers. Wynn Al Marjan Island, set to debut in 2027 as the UAE’s first integrated resort, will feature 1,530 rooms and suites, 22 dining and entertainment venues, a beach club, luxury marina, and 15,000-square-meter shopping promenade lined with high-end boutiques.

With Aman’s lifestyle spin-off now joining the scene, Ras Al Khaimah is fast becoming the UAE’s latest and greatest frontier for high-end hospitality.

Let’s see how this marriage of Wynn’s bold, Vegas-inspired vision and Aman’s soulful minimalism pans out.
