WhatsApp, one of the most popular social media platforms on the planet, may soon bring one of the most requested features to its users. WhatsApp is presently testing a chat import capability from Android to iOS, which will allow users to access their WhatsApp chat history when switching from an Android to an iPhone.
The functionality is not currently available to beta users, but it is expected to be available in full capacity for beta testers soon. At the moment, WhatsApp does not have an internal solution or feature that allows users to import conversation history from an Android device to an iPhone.

While the Meta-owned company had promised to implement this capability on select Samsung and Google smartphones by 2021, the majority of Android phones are unable to communicate chat data to an iPhone.
Nevertheless, the feature is now available on select Samsung and Google Pixel smartphones. This might be a game-changer for Apple, as many Android users are hesitant to switch to iPhones because they can’t access their WhatsApp chat data saved in Google Drive on their Android devices.
Reportedly, WhatsApp brought the chat transfer capability from iOS to some Samsung handsets in August of last year. In late October, it was extended to Google Pixel devices. The ability to migrate chats from iOS is available out of the box for Android 12 smartphones.
