Bollywood actress Bhumi Pednekar might only be a couple films old but she has already displayed a variety and range that most of her contemporaries haven’t managed to. While it speaks for volumes about her filmography, it also vouches for her ability of picking just the right projects. That and her convincing and memorable performances that have left a lasting impression in the minds of her viewers. Be it her maiden performance in Dum Laga Ke Haisha or the way she brought Sudha to life in Lust Stories and even Indumati in Sonchiriya, these speak volumes about her mettle. Now while all of it has become synonymous with her name, it is also surprising at the same time given that Bhumi Pednekar is a true-blue Bombay girl!

So, how does he build these small-town, gritty characters that are far away from her reality and surroundings? Well, that’s what you call a good actor! Mind you; there’s no trick. Just lots and lots of preparation and unlearning, reassures the actress. It is true she goes from ‘bro’ to ‘bhaisahaab’ in no time but it is not without sinking teeth into the character while unlearning the mental conditioning that privilege brings with it. The actress also opened up about her film school education and experience behind the screen that made up for the most formative years. It obviously translates to the kind of work she puts on-screen now including her foray into horror that requires her to act without any stimulus; essentially reacting to a green chroma screen.

We obviously didn’t wrap it before the Bombay bit which, Bhumi being a Bombay girl, went for a good while. And what’s not to love? The energy, the vibe, the haunted stories? Oh yeah, there are some. The actress is also a foodie who likes to indulge in her favorites including dabeli, vada pav, sev, usal pav, misal pav and the likes. She also has her go-to places and you’ll have to watch the video to know them! Happy watching:
