For those who don’t know, he was a part of the India-Pakistan debate along with India’s Barkha Dutt, and Pakistan’s Hina Khar and Shehzad Ghias Shaikh. A video of Ranveer’s statements has now gone viral on social media, where he is seen discussing terrorism while showing everyone photos of Osama Bin Laden.
In the video, he is heard saying that he was on the show to “present proofs, facts, and figures.” Recalling how US President Donald Trump had announced that he was “responsible” for the ceasefire between the two countries, and how Pakistan broke it “about an hour after” the announcement, he showed everyone Laden’s pictures. Quoted by Free Press Journal, he added, “He was found 800 meters from a military base in Pakistan. That’s the face that the world recognizes. This is the face that India recognizes because it’s most specific to our narrative. This man is a UN designated terrorist being celebrated by the Pakistani military in the background.”
Revealing that India’s attacks on Pakistan were “precision oriented, moderate and most importantly,” they were a “retaliation.” “India’s never been an aggressor in any of these situations. We export vaccines, we export philosophy and we export engineers and leaders to the world. That’s why the economy is 11 times the size of Pakistan. But the Pakistan narrative is that, ‘Hey, look at these people. They are trying to get the world to sympathize with them’,” he concluded.
Further during the debate, Morgan referred to Ranveer’s deleted ‘Dear Pakistani Brothers & Sisters’ post. After reading out the entire post, he asked the YouTuber, his reason behind deleting the post. He explained that he removed it from his social media handle because the rival country had broken the ceasefire and “gave us another reason to not trust” them.
Quoted by the Free Press Journal, Ranveer Allahbadia added, “Even if you try having a conversation with Pakistanis, they respond, ‘Hey, where’s the proof about the Pahalgam attack?’. It’s very important to understand that the Indian Armed Forces simply retaliated to the action of the Pakistanis. I have no narrative other than the one that the world should know. We are combating terrorism because if India exports vaccines and engineers, Pakistan exports terrorism. We are doing a favour to all our civilians. We are protecting our civilians. But truth to be told, we are protecting humanity because Pakistan has become the terror hub of the world. This is not an Indian narrative. This is the narrative that the world should know.”
