Power couple Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas stunned us all by announcing the arrival of their baby girl via surrogacy last week. While reports suggest that the couple’s firstborn arrived nearly 12 weeks earlier than expected in a Southern California hospital, the couple is currently busy clearing their professional schedules to spend more time with their baby girl. And given the circumstances, a Bollywood Hungama report claims that Priyanka has decided to opt-out of Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Jee Le Zaraa’ starring Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt.

While the report suggested that Priyanka wants to devote her time and energy to her baby girl, it also stated that producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani have already started looking out for Priyanka’s replacement. Meanwhile, Priyanka and Nick announced the birth of their newborn with a social media post. “We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family. Thank you so much,” they wrote.

Billed as a road-trip movie, ‘Jee Le Zaraa’ was announced last year in August with actresses Priyanka, Katrina and Alia as leading actresses of the all-female cast. Meanwhile, in a recent interview, filmmaker Zoya Akhtar, who came on-board as a writer and producer, had revealed that it was the actresses (Alia and Katrina), who pitched her the idea after receiving a call from Priyanka.

Talking about the project, Priyanka had penned a long note on social media announcing her first collaboration with her ‘real friends’. “There are not enough Hindi movies that are female multi-starrers. This led to an impulsive phone call… to my 2 real friends about this idea that involved 3 on-screen girlfriends. A celebration of friendship we called it,” Priyanka wrote.

Priyanka, who was recently seen in Lana Wachowski’s ‘The Matrix Resurrections’ alongside Carrie-Anne Moss and Keanu Reeves, will soon be seen in Russo Brothers’ for Amazon’s upcoming series ‘Citadel’.
