Madhur Bhandarkar Shares ‘A Bold Reminder’ To Bollywood As Saiyaara ‘Shatters Myth About Launching Newcomers’

Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar has made a name for himself in the Hindi entertainment industry with directorial projects like Fashion, Chandani Bar, and Heroine, among many others. Known for opening up about his views and never mincing his words, on Friday, he took to his official social media handle to laud Mohit Suri directorial Saiyaara. The project marks the Bollywood debut of Ananya Panday’s cousin Ahaan Panday and actress Aneet Padda of Big Girls Don’t Cry fame.

Sharing his views on the romantic musical, Bhandarkar expressed that the film has shattered all myths about launching newcomers in the Hindi entertainment industry. He wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter), “#Saiyyara has shattered every myth about launching newcomers. No big names, no big PR just raw talent and fearless storytelling. Despite having skipped out on promoting the film and letting the film speak for itself, Ahaan and Aneet took to their official Instagram handles to pen heartwarming letters addressed to Mohit as well as to each other.

If media reports are to be believed, Saiyaara is set to have one of the biggest opening day collections for a film with debutants. According to a report by the Free Press Journal, the movie has already made around Rs 9 crore with its advance booking. Given the buzz, it is expected to earn a total of Rs 15 crore by the end of today.

For those who don’t know, Saiyaara is a tale of love, heartbreak, and pain, featuring Ahaan Panday as a rising musician Krish Kapoor and Aneet Padda as an innocent lyricist Vaani Batra. Released on July 18, 2025, the film is directed by Mohit Suri. Starring the debutants, the film is produced by YRF.
